STEP 01
Create your OverlayDeck
- Open OverlayDeck
Go to goufbam.sbs/canvas and sign in with Kick or Twitch.
- Create your channel
Your OverlayDeck workspace, media library, moderator list, controller link, and OBS output are private to your streamer account.
- Connect your other platform
Open Connections if you also use the other service. Link it while signed into the same OverlayDeck account so you keep one workspace.
- Choose the active platform
Enable Kick, Twitch, or both for the stream you are running today. You can switch this later without rebuilding the OBS source.
STEP 02
Add OverlayDeck to OBS
- Copy the Browser Source URL
In Studio, select a layer and find Browser source in Properties. Click Copy URL. The same private output URL displays every saved layer.
- Create an OBS Browser Source
In OBS, open Sources, click +, choose Browser, and create a new source named “GoufBam OverlayDeck.”
- Paste the URL and set the size
Paste your OverlayDeck URL. Set Width to 1920 and Height to 1080. OverlayDeck positions are based on that 16:9 frame.
- Enable overlay audio
Check Control audio via OBS. OverlayDeck audio will appear in the OBS Audio Mixer, where you can mute it, monitor it, or adjust the final stream volume.
- Save and test
Click OK. Return to Studio, add a text layer or trigger an effect, and confirm it appears in OBS immediately.
Recommended OBS settings

- Control audio via OBS
- On
- Refresh browser when scene becomes active
- Off, unless troubleshooting
STEP 03
Learn the Studio
The solid frame is what OBS sees. Media can wait outside it until you drag it on-screen.
Zoom from 25% to 250%. Zoom changes only your editor view—not the OBS output.
Select, reorder, hide, lock, duplicate, or delete items. Higher layers appear in front.
Set exact position, size, rotation, opacity, blur, flips, text formatting, media volume, and playback.
Show a muted Kick or Twitch stream behind the overlay to place items over the live video.
See the streamer first and active moderators below, including how many tabs they have connected.
Timers
Select a timer in Layers, then set its ending time. Use Text while counting down and Text when timer ends for stream starts, giveaways, breaks, challenges, launches, or any other timed moment.
STEP 04
Add and control media
- Use Bulk upload
Select several supported images, GIFs, videos, or audio files at once. Media belongs only to that streamer’s workspace.
- Find new uploads off-screen
New media is staged outside the OBS frame so it cannot accidentally cover the stream. Zoom out or select it from Layers, then drag it in.
- Organize the waiting area
Grid outside lines up images and videos around the frame. Scatter outside spreads them around the pasteboard.
- Control playback
Videos do not autoplay in OBS. Use Play, Pause, Stop, the timeline, loop, and volume controls. Audio and video start at 20% volume.
- Pause animated media
Use Pause all media when you do not want every preview or GIF moving while you arrange the scene.
STEP 05
Invite moderators safely
- Open Manage mods
Only the streamer can create invites, remove moderators, change their permissions, or delete every asset.
- Choose permissions
Grant only what that moderator needs: moving layers, changing content, managing layers, uploading, playing sounds, triggering effects, or changing platforms.
- Send the invite privately
The invite applies only to this streamer’s OverlayDeck. It works once and expires after seven days if nobody claims it.
- The moderator signs in
After claiming the invite, their approved account can enter the channel. They cannot access another streamer’s OverlayDeck with that invitation.
STEP 06
Use Kick, Twitch, or both
The OverlayDeck Browser Source is platform-neutral. A streamer can use Kick one day, Twitch the next, or multistream to both without changing the OBS URL. Connect both identities to the same OverlayDeck account and select which platform is active for the current stream.
Update the active platform in Studio. Your layers, media, moderators, and OBS source stay the same.
Enable both platforms. Platform badges and the preview controls reflect the services you connected.
HELP
Quick troubleshooting
Nothing appears in OBS
Confirm the Browser Source URL is correct and its size is 1920 × 1080. In OBS, right-click the source, open Properties, and click Refresh cache of current page. Make sure the layer is visible and inside the solid frame.
Audio plays in Studio but not OBS
Enable Control audio via OBS in the Browser Source properties. Check that GoufBam OverlayDeck appears in the OBS Audio Mixer and is not muted. Videos start only after an approved controller presses Play.
A moderator cannot move or add anything
The streamer must unpause moderator actions and grant the needed Transform, Content, Layers, and Upload permissions. Approved media may remain owner-protected.
I cannot find an uploaded item
New media begins outside the OBS frame. Zoom out with the mouse wheel, select the item from Layers, or press Grid outside to organize waiting media.
An upload says FILE TOO BIG
The file exceeded the current per-file upload limit. Compress or shorten it, export it at a smaller resolution, and upload it again. The storage indicator at the top shows the streamer’s remaining media space.
The connection stopped updating
Reload Studio and refresh the OBS Browser Source. OverlayDeck reconnects automatically, but a full refresh clears a stale browser connection.
Still stuck? Use Report a bug at the bottom of Studio. Reports go to the GoufBam administrator, not to the streamer’s moderators.
